There can be only one... Administrator.
Before we begin to discuss the hows and wherefores of Subadministrators, let's review the Administrator account. FirstClass has only one Administrator, and we cannot stress enough that you should use the Administrator account only when necessary. Do not use the Administrator account as a personal email account or to perform tasks that could be accomplished by a Subadministrator account. In fact, the person in charge of the Administrator account should have their own Subadministrator account where they perform most of their tasks. So what things can be done by the Administrator alone?
- Create Subadministrator Accounts
- Modify Subadministrator Accounts
- Global Batch Admin
- Deep System Modifications
So, how many Subadministrators do you need?
Without a doubt, you'll need at least one: the regular account for the person designated as your FirstClass Administrator. You will most likely need several others, depending upon your organization and your FirstClass setup. The key to determining how many additional Subadministrators you will need is not dependent so much on your personnel, but on the quantity and type of tasks that need to be performed. The calculator below is a very rough estimator based upon the amount of time it takes to perform the indicated tasks, based upon the number of users. The calculator also assumes that your staff have been trained, are familiar with technical administrative tasks, and need little in the way of guidance. If your situation is different, you may want to adjust the result accordingly.
