Category Links Page
111110_94806_0.pngCategory Links Page:

The Category Links Page is a modified version of the Intentions Links Page, designed to be more purpose-driven and visually compact. Instead of displaying the resulting links directly, the Category Links page focuses on sections and descriptions, and places the links within a form select list. Common uses of this form include the presentation of downloadable forms and instructions, links for separate entities within an organization, and step-by-step access to files.

The Category Links Page will render ten (10) links in each of eight (8) available categories.

Details Tab - Layout and Styles

Categories: This series of font, color, and style options allow you to determine the presentation of the category headers located on subsequent tabs. You can choose the font face, font size, and font color, as well as present the header in italics and boldface on the rendered page.

Descriptions: This series of font, color, and style options allow you to determine the presentation of the category descriptions located on subsequent tabs. You can choose the font face, font size, and font color, as well as present the header in italics and boldface on the rendered page.

Links Area Location: This set of radio buttons allows you to determine the position of the links areas. The available options are above or below the free-form area.

Link Selector Action: This set of radio buttons allows you to determine how the select lists on the rendered page behave. The available options are action on selection, or require a button click. If a button click is required, a button will be presented on the rendered page; actions direct from the select list will remove the button on the rendered page.

Link Selector Position: This set of radio buttons allows you to determine the layout of the individual link areas. The available options are to place the select list tot he right of the category header, below the category header (and above the description), or below the description. All areas will display in the same format.

Include: Checking the include checkbox activates the associated category links area and places it on the rendered page. The links area will render if the include box is checked, regardless of content. When unchecked, the intentions links area will not render, regardless of content.

Category Header Text: The category header text field allows you to place a block of text as a header to the links area. The border checkbox and associated color field allows you to set a specific border color for the category links area. Checking this checkbox will activate a border, and use the associated color selector's value as the border color. Unchecking this box will render the category links area without a border. The background checkbox and associated color field allows you to set a specific background color for the category links area. Checking this checkbox will use the associated color selector's value as the background color. Unchecking this box will render the background as transparent.

Description: This text field allows you to enter a brief description or set of instructions for the associated category links.

Link Text Fields: The category link text field column represents the text that will be displayed for the associated category link in the select list.

URL Fields: The category link URL field column represents the target file or location that will be associated with the select list text. The URL field can include a relative link (EG: /pages/files/mydoc.pdf), and absolute link (EG: http://mtt.whatifnet.com/), or an email address (EG: llidoff@mttypical.org). When rendered to the Web site, the email address is randomly split and recombined in such a way as to deter robot "harvesting" of the address for unsolicited email.
